New Age Limits
420 - a new under-17 age division has been introduced. This is restricted to athletes aged 16 and under at the end of 2015, with each NCA entitled to three additional entries for teams under-17, with the host nation entitled to an additional six entries per Championship. Under-17 teams can choose whether to sail in the main Junior European Championship fleets or race in the under-17 fleet, which will feature all teams racing together.
Added to the existing quota, the new division gives each NCA a total entry quota of 10 entries per Championship and the host nation 20 entries per Championship, ensuring only the best in the world qualify to compete and represent their nation. If you have any queries, please emailoffice@420sailing.org
470 - The age limit for teams competing at the 470 Junior Championship has increased to 23 years with effect from 2015. To be eligible to compete in the 2015 470 Junior World Championships and 2015 470 Junior European Championships, the helm and crew must not have attained his or her 24th birthday before or on 31 December 2015. This increase in age limit is to help support the transition from junior to senior fleet competition. If you have any queries, please email office@470.org
