Fantastic start for our team at the 1st regatta for the season - "Briz Prolet" 2019 hosted by SC"Cherno More - Briz"
The races were conducted at the Varna lake from 5th to 7th April. Our team has acquired a real palette of medals.
Three gold, one silver and two bronze medals have decorated our sailors in the classes Laser Standard and Laser 4.7 as follows:
- Gold for Liuben Tenekedzhiev.Decisive victory with seven bullets in the Laser Standard class.
- Stanislava Todorova - Sunny - has dominated in the general and girls' standings in the Laser 4.7 fleet seizing two gold medals.
- With a traditionally high performance, David Binev fell only 5 points behind the leader and took silver in the boys' fleet. His efforts are not in vain as he also claimed the bronze in the general standings.
- A podium spot was captured also by Clement Sarastov as he took the bronze medal in boys` senior fleet.
In the other classes in which our sailors have participated:
- Optimist class overall:
Mariyan Shangov - 9th
Ivan Yordanov - 21st
Anton Garov - 30th
Tino Tomov - 31st
- 420 class:
Martin Garov and Sava Sarastov took 4th place, only a point behind the podium spot.
470 class:
Atanas Radev and Diliyana Giulemerova scored 5th place. This is the debut for Diliyana in the class. He began her training with the 470 just in September 2018.
Considering the cold and unwelcoming weather and the fact that this is the first venue for many of the sailors after the long winter period, we are generally happy with our team`s performance.
